Asian Youth Orchestra
Tthe AYO has selected the recipient for the David S Davies Foundation Scholarship. Her name is Wong Zsche Chuang from Hong Kong. She is only 15 years old and a secondary school student. She plays the viola. This is her first time to play in the Asian Youth Orchestra.
Other than viola, she also plays the piano. This year, the AYO need a pianist for the piano solo part in the Barber violin concerto. It is a very difficult part and we asked if she would like to try to take up the challenge. She came to the office, picked up the score and three days later she said she could manage it. Obviously she is very excited about playing in AYO.

2005/06 Academy In-take
the process for selecting the new intake of players for the HKRFU Academy programme will take place between the months of May and June 2006. Selection of players will be taken from the present U/16 to U/19 age group. Engaged in the selection process will be the National Coaches who have worked with the players consistently throughout the season along with the Professional Staff from the Performance Department. Once players have been identified, interviews will be held with an initial four month probation period being offered to selected players.
Those players chosen will move in to an elite training environment and benefit from:
• Specific Strength and Conditioning programme for Rugby
• Micro Skill Development
• Individual Skill Development
• 1 to 1 video analysis
• A personal Mentor
The first phase of Academy programme will commence during the summer.
